Size Doesn't Matter
That's right, I make all size tables. Round, Oval, Octagon, Hexagon,
I do them all. Basically the amount of materials is virtually the same,
smaller tables just end up with a little more left over. Pricing is the
same regardless of size and shape.
The Playing Surface
There are two basic options for a poker tables playing surface. The
first is a traditional look. This is what you'll find in every single
casino out there. I always recommend this as it's more comfortable to
use than a Racetrack table, and it looks much nicer (at least to me).
Plus when you stack your chips on the padded felt, it's much easier to
do tricks with your chips and there's no transition between your stacks
and the pot. This makes it much easier for you to go all in on your
friends in one smooth motion. Slide under cup holders can be easily
added and removed as needed.

Traditional
The other option is to have a wooden racetrack built into the perimeter
of the playing surface. The racetrack gives some contrast to the table
and can be finished in essentially any color stain you desire. Cup
holders can be added to this racetrack as well, as few or as many as
you'd like. Keep in mind, with a full table of 10 people, sometimes your
cup holder may not be on your dominant hand's side. There are a few
drawbacks to consider, even if the look of a racetrack is appealing to you. First and
foremost it takes a bit more time and effort for this option, as well as
some additional supplies. So the cost does go up. Additionally, there
is a transition between the racetrack and felt, so you'll need to get
used to it in the beginning.

Racetrack
All in all, it's your table and you'll need to decide. Whichever way you
decide, I'll always recommend going with the slide under cup holders vs.
having them built in. You'll never have to worry about your drink not being
in a comfortable spot if you do. And you wont lose any surface space if you
don't have a drink in front of you.
